JUMP BACK | BE FORWARD

- "American Idol" and yes the recaps will be returning so suck it up, haters
- "Battlestar Galactica" (because spoiler alert I can't wait to see Lorne Greene as the final robot)
- "Lost" because there is still the possibility that Sun will wear another bikini
- "Mad Men" because of martinis and suits, mostly, and plus Kennedy will die
- "Purple Monkey Dishwater" because I hope Scree-Scree and Screw-Poo get together
- "Ape Hut" because I hear they're going to bring in an orang-utan this year
- "Mr. T's Yelling At People Hour" because it has Mr. T yelling at people for an hour

I may have made some of those up.

Things always pick up after an assassination.

I'd watch the Mr. T show. Heck, I'd tape it and watch it again.

Bert Cooper name-dropped Ayn Rand in something like 3 separate episodes in the first season; nary a mention since. I keep waiting for him to invite Draper to one of the cultish "salons" that Rand held in Manhattan in the 60s. We could meet a young Alan Greenspan!

I remember this one episode where Bert Cooper was talking about Ayn Rand, and then he got up and gestured towards a door, and said (to Jon Hamm, I think) "I want you to see something". And I was all, OH MY GOD HE'S GOT AYN RAND BEHIND THAT DOOR AS PLAYED BY ISABELLA ROSELLINI WEARING A DOLLAR BILL CAPE.

That turned out not to be the case, though.

I actually think Rachel Dratch would make a much better Ayn Rand.

I love your icon's implication that Bert Cooper looked like Gerry Todd when he was younger.

Does it sound as homophobic as "Screw-Poo"?

I hate to tell you this, but Kennedy will not so much “die” as “have died.” He was assassinated in ’63, which is an odd-numbered year, and the series will only cover even-numbered years.

Sorry!

Also, the Mr. pilot focus-grouped really poorly, so I wouldn't count on it actually being picked up.

One of the above things is totally made up.

Pfff, even numbered years. I bet they think they funny.

Well, they want to wrap up the decade in five seasons, which kind of makes sense. I mean, as opposed to just letting it go on and on and on past its prime.

Face it, at a certain point the clothes would just start to get ugly, and everyone would start switching from Gibsons to bullshots, and frankly, who the hell wants to see that?

Off topic (and hello)!
Hey, wait a minute. Leonard Pierce? Is that, as in, say, Mister Leonard Pierce? Because I think I have a tag that is relevant to your interests.

If you are some other Leonard Pierce, feel free to ignore my disjointed ramblings, and feel free to blame fengi for my even knowing you exist.

I am in all likelihood the Mister Leonard Pierce to whom you refer. And someday I'll prove it again.

Lorne Greene's like, too dead to be #12.

But amusingly, the first line of his wikipedia page reads:

Lyon Chaim Green O.C., LL.D. (February 12, 1915 – September 11, 1987) was a Canadian actor, first gay cowboy actor, best known in the United States for his roles on two American television programs: the long-running western Bonanza and the shorter-lived original incarnation of the cult classic science fiction franchise of Battlestar Galactica.
