Got some solid work done on the crappy novel last night. I think I'm finally getting back into the routines and habits I need to form so I'll have the discipline to write every day. It makes me a very dull boy, I know, but it's the best way I know to do it. I've gotten a tremendous amount of freelance opportunities lately, but it's made me lose focus on the novel, and if I'm going to finish it anywhere near the deadline, I have to concentrate and discipline myself. I think I'm getting there. Now if I can just get back to working out and not eating crap, I'll be in a pretty good situation.
Speaking of freelance gigs, as a special bonus Whorin', feel free to take a gander at this slight little humor piece by me in the latest issue of Opium.
Also, if you're in the Chicago area and are dying to know what I think of the latest Quasi album, head to a busy street corner and pick up the latest issue of UR, where I have three reviews including the lead "Hear This" feature. (On edit: the Quasi review is also on the UR website and can be read here.)
Yay! I love it when people give me money to write things. If any of you would like to give me money to write things, please let me know. Hey, you know what's comin' up? HALLOWEEN! I'mo buy punkins.
