Whorin'

Weekend megamix:

Friday: Wu-Tang vs. Bureaucracy.
Saturday: sausage, and some depressing political lists.
Sunday: a link guaranteed to cause you mirth.

Bonus whoring:

Bonus: a mini-feature on Sally Timms in the latest UR Chicago.

Double bonus whoring:

Readers in Chicago can also pick up this month's UR for a look at a potentially laff-inducing "Holiday Drinking Guide" by me.

Triple kitty bonus whoring:

A review of Jewel of India in the Chicago Reader; Chicagoans can also pick up the latest reader to find a few of my contributions in the "Critics' Choice" edition of the food section.

- I thought up the greatest idea I've ever had for a roleplaying campaign. It's truly awesome, truly epic. It came to me in a dream. It's really quite incredible, with something for everyone. It's only too bad no one will ever play it.

- I had the first 'free day' I've had in forever yesterday -- a day with no personal, professional or social obligations. Naturally, I spent most of it sitting on my ass in front of a computer, writing. I even did some work on my crappy novel!

- We may get the first snow of the year on Friday. Nice capper to Thanksgiving. I wish I wasn't such a sucker for the winter holidays, but I am. There's really nothing that can be done about it.

- I discovered this weekend while peeling potatoes that I actually really like Macy Gray. Who knew? I'm so unused to hearing, let alone liking, top 40 stuff that I was really taken aback by it, but she's got an excellent voice, decent production, and surprisingly good lyrics.

- I'm not one for New Years' resolutions, but I intend to do a bunch of things differently, or more, or less, depending on the breaks, in 2005. (How's that for commital?) Step 1: Spend more time shuttling to St. P to see the best gal in the world. Who I wish would update her journal more often, but I am not nagging because I know how busy she is, I am merely saying.
