Ann Coulter: Still an Unbelievable Racist

Ann's got her timeshared-with-Matt-Drudge panties in a twist over the fact that President Bush gave a speech honoring Kwanzaa. Why, doesn't he know that it's a "fake" holiday invented by an "FBI stooge" who ran a murderous gang of "proto-fascists"? Ah, well, it's not all bad, because it gives her a chance to talk about how much she hates niggers. Let's watch!

I believe more African-Americans spent this season reflecting on the birth of Christ than some phony non-Christian holiday invented a few decades ago by an FBI stooge.

While it is likely that more blacks celebrated Christmas this year than Kwanzaa -- possibly due to the forcible conversion of their enslaved ancestors to Christianity by Ann Coulter's ancestors -- just because a holiday is non-Christian does not make it phony. Also, in case Ann hasn't been paying attention her entire life, Christmas itself is largely invented.

United Slaves [the organization led by Kwanzaa's inventor] were proto-fascists, walking around in dashikis, gunning down Black Panthers and adopting invented "African" names. (That was a big help to the black community: How many boys named "Jamal" currently sit on death row?)

Wow, that's super-racist! But could it be worse? Sure it could! For instance, one could point out that (a) Jamal is not an invented name and (b) it is also not an African name, but rather an Arabic one.

Now we know that the FBI fueled the bloody rivalry between the Panthers and United Slaves. In one barbarous outburst, Karenga's United Slaves shot to death Black Panthers Al "Bunchy" Carter and Deputy Minister John Huggins on the UCLA campus. Karenga himself served time, a useful stepping-stone for his current position as a black studies professor at California State University at Long Beach.

This whole section (some of which I've snipped) is interesting. Aside from the "savage", "barbarous" stuff, always dynamite when applied to black people, it's interesting because it puts Ann Coulter in the rather bizarre position of hating Karenga and his United Slaves outfit so much that she ends up defending the Black Panthers, of all people. She makes the strange argument, not normally heard from people to the right of H. Rap Brown, that the Panthers didn't hate white people and didn't advocate revolution, talking points she probably picked up from David Horowitz. I'm pretty sure that if the Panthers were still a viable organization today, Ann would be frothing at the mouth over their very existence. At any rate, she notes correctly that Karenga was an FBI stooge and that the feds deliberately encouraged radical outfits to violently attack one another, but somehow she blames this on leftist leaders instead of, say, J. Edgar Hoover.

Kwanzaa itself is a lunatic blend of schmaltzy '60s rhetoric, black racism and Marxism. Indeed, the seven "principles" of Kwanzaa praise collectivism in every possible arena of life -- economics, work, personality, even litter removal. ("Kuumba: Everyone should strive to improve the community and make it more beautiful.") It takes a village to raise a police snitch.

I'd like to say that only Ann Coulter could take a harmless idea like "everyone should pitch in to help make the community a better place to live" -- advocated by such radical proto-fascists as Woodsy the Owl -- and make it sound like something out of Beria's Soviet torture manuals, but I'm pretty sure a lot of conservative windbags could do the same thing.

When Karenga was asked to distinguish Kawaida, the philosophy underlying Kwanzaa, from "classical Marxism," he essentially explained that under Kawaida, we also hate whites.

This word 'essentially' is fun, because it allows her to completely mischaracterize what is actually said. Example:

ANN COULTER: Explain this idea of 'social democracy' to me.

ME: Well, I think that a wealthy and prosperous democracy should fund government oversight of private industry and use a progressive tax structure to help the less fortunate.

ANN COULTER: So you're essentially saying you want a Stalinist terror regime.

Kawaida practitioners believe one's racial identity "determines life conditions, life chances and self-understanding." There's an inclusive philosophy for you.

Of course, it is hard for a weathly white conservative from a tony Connecticut suburb to imagine how one's racial identity might play a role in the conditions in which one lives, one's prospects in life, and one's understanding of how the world works. It's perhaps a tad less hard for, say, a poor black person growing up in Watts. But let's leave that aside, and see if Ann can come up with a super-racist Christmas carol to express her contempt for any black person who dares celebrate Kwanzaa! I bet she can:

(Sing to "Jingle Bells")

Kwanzaa bells, dashikis sell
Whitey has to pay;
Burning, shooting, oh what fun
On this made-up holiday!

Wow, that's super-crazy-gonzo racist! Seriously, this is the kind of 'lookit them dumb-ass coons' stuff you see on, say, stormfront.org.

It's as if David Duke invented a holiday called "Anglika," and the president of the United States issued a presidential proclamation honoring the synthetic holiday. People might well stand up and take notice if that happened.

It's sort of like that, in the sense of not being like that at all. I would love to explain the imbalanced power dynamic of race in America to Ann before she cites the "well, if there's a black Miss America, how come there can't be a WHITE Miss America?" argument, but I'm afraid she'd be too busy actually celebrating Anglika.

Kwanzaa was the result of a '60s psychosis grafted onto the black community. Liberals have become so mesmerized by multicultural nonsense that they have forgotten the real history of Kwanzaa and Karenga's United Slaves -- the violence, the Marxism, the insanity. Now the "holiday" concocted by an FBI dupe is honored in a presidential proclamation and public schools across the nation.

Of course, I don't give a shit about Kwanzaa, nor am I fan of Karenga, who, it is true, was an FBI stooge and a traitor to his own cause. But I would point out that despite its origins, a lot of people celebrate the holiday and have allowed its underlying principles to overcome its bogus beginnings and shady history -- just as many sincere Christians are able to celebrate Christmas despite the horribly violent and insane post-Christ history of Christianity. If Kwanzaa should be dismissed because of the circumstances of its founding, should Christmas likewise be dismissed because of the circumstances AFTER its founding?

A movement that started approximately 2,000 years before Kwanzaa leaps well beyond merely "unity" and "faith" to proclaim that we are all equal before God. "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28).

It's lovely that Ann can end a really racist, hateful, ill-informed, divisive and dishonest column by bringing everyone together with the knowledge that no matter your sex, race, religion or circumstance, you are all as one provided you convert to Christianity.
