What do you think about the claim by a US general that the suicide by hanging of three detainees at Guantanamo was "a publicity stunt"?
Recently, I purchased a magazine whose back cover featured an ad for Haagen-Dazs' new "Mayan chocolate" flavor, featuring the slogan 'CORTEZ INVADED FOR IT'. Is this in bad taste?

Suggest some crap piece of American culture that has not yet been revived as a musical, film, TV series, or video game and is rife for the doing.
More text from that ad: "In 1520, Cortez arrived in Latin America and captured the world's original recipe for chocolate. Fortunately, you'll find it a bit easier to get your hands on this coveted chocolate and cinnamon delicacy." Oh, word? So I won't have to enslave an entire people, wipe out their culture, execute their leaders, and slaughter them by the legions in order to get this yummy treat? Hooray for modern convenience! Thanks, Haagen-Dazs!
