A hero ain't nothin' but a guitar

Guitar Hero III came out on Sunday, and by Monday, some people on my friends list, and some friends of friends, were already talking about playing it, or even beating it, on the "HARD" setting.

What the fuck. Must you people make me feel inadequate even in my amusements?

they're probably lying,

And if they're not?

Well then that's still kinda sad.

The real question is, how do you people earn the money to buy Guitar Hero III if all you're doing is playing Guitar Hero III?

Cashing in their sick days? Still living at home with hard-working mom?
Or lying. There's always folks who are lying.

Man, whatever. Don't listen to internet fools brag about their video game prowess. You know, one thing that the internet has really ruined is the mystery of video games. Back in the day, you just enjoyed your own little experience within a game, and never had to know that some chump the next town over beat it the afternoon it came out with his eyes closed and a score a thousand times better than anything you'd ever conceived of as possible in years of repeat play. I don't need to hear about some 19-year-old with plenty of time and energy and no life yapping in some internet forum. /rant

Anyway, I picked up GH3 last night and got as far as the Tom Morello battle in the second set of songs on medium, but he shamed me several times before I had to go to bed because I'm old. Does that make you feel better?

See, I have nothing against beating the game -- I've (barely) beaten it on "HARD" myself. But that was after playing the fucking game for months. I just don't get people who buy the thing and are done with it a day out of the shrinkwrap. It just doesn't seem...fun.

they should make the game harder for real players, then. we got the Wii on Sunday, with GH3. we've collectively banked more than 14 hours on Zelda and we're only 1/2 way through the first set of puzzles after the PROLOGUE.

My roommate's had some trouble with "Raining Blood." Everything else he's buried. Took 3 tries for Tom Morello, though, and maybe 6 or seven to defeat Slash. What can I say? Dude plays.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that. I can do the easy songs but medium still freaks my shit out. I have it now, though, so I can practice practice practice!!

I've had that Priestess song in my head for like 2 months now. I think I had a dream about it.
