A man drives a car into the SeaTac Airport

IS SEATTLE

- The EMP Pop Conference: less exciting than last year. I place the blame on Kandia Crazy Horse, as I blame her for everything else about the world I do not like, including paper cuts and the unavailability in this area of Cactus Cooler. However, I did see a handful of good panels and presentations, and it's always nice to hang out with hipsterdetritus and catch up with the rockcrit gang.

- Also there was a ruckus, although it appears to have died down. I thought I gave a pretty good presentation, but it was met with jeers and wild accusations by some of the brotherhood. Will I be invited back next year? Only Wendy Fonarow knows for sure!

- My good friends kudaspeaks and fiberpunk were kind enough to put me up for the weekend at their swank pad. I slept on a couch of shiny shiny leather and listened to their cat complain about Barack Obama. At least that's what I think it was. They are fantastic hosts and they live in George Jefferson's old apartment.

- My also good friends janehex and brianchurch, who came out to see me. We ate hamburgers, had an exciting nautical adventure, and also Brian bought some pants.

- I finally got to meet calamityjon and his lovely and talented wife superdaintykate! To my surprise, he did not attack and/or kill me, and I got to ride in the Beemobile. Jon is funny as hell, mixes a mean drink, and got us riffing on sadistic Mormon gods and morbidly obese detectives all weekend. It was great to see them and I hope it's not a year before it happens again. Sorry to any and all of you I missed.

IS NOT SEATTLE

- Happy Tax Day, everyone! This Thanksgiving, I'm eating a turkey baster in honor of my NWU-funded accountant, who whittled my total owed down to about $1500 from a whopping six and a half grand. Since I owe no state taxes (way to be, Texas, you heartless short-sighted fucks), I gave an extra dollar to the bums in Hobo Alley to not shit in my path.

- I was so tired last night I forgot to eat. Hello, new diet book idea!

- A friend of mine has built me a theremin. This is awesome, even though I cannot play the theremin, don't think I'll ever learn to play the theremin, and don't even know the mechanics of theremin-playing. At the very least, I will soon be able to drown out the din of my neighbor's band practice by making goofy space noises. Curiously, this is the second theremin-related activity of the last 24 hours, as last night I was sending my dear friend thaitea videos of cats playing the theremin. THEREMIN! Is what I'm getting at here.

- You know those LiveJournal memes about who on your FL you've made out with/slept with/thrown yourself on a landmine for? Yeah. Someone craft one of those that doesn't make me feel horribly depressed and self-loathing, be a dear, won't you? Thanks so much.

- Anyway, it's been nice knowing all of you, but please get your comments in while you can, because Grand Theft Auto IV comes out at the end of the month, after which you will never see me again.

I believe my gamertag is "mysterycritic". I could be wrong, though.
