I don't say "evasion", I say "avoision"

Hey, kids!

Here's something to think about the next time you hear someone gassing on about law & order, or personal responsibility, or 'free-riding', or whatever other blanket term conservatives use to to argue that nobody should help poor people.

It's most, see? Not a goodly share. Not a significant percentage. Not a noticeable minority. Most. And of course, the article itself lays the groundwork for the excuses: they're paying some other way, or they're using credits, or they're taking a loss. Of course they are. Just keep telling yourself that, and pretty soon you'll believe it, too.

some people argue that if you pay the individual income tax, the corporation tax is redundant. You can just raise the individual income tax and raise the funds that way.

However, if the wealthy go for an offshore tax haven, they could skip that one too I suppose.

Those commies at the Wall Street Journal broke this story years ago. But they're commies.

About 25 percent of the U.S. corporations not paying corporate taxes were considered large corporations, meaning they had at least $250 million in assets or $50 million in receipts.

That's probably the interesting part.

Publically traded companies, in theory, shouldn't need to pay income tax, since that money gets divvied up amongst the shareholders, who in turn pay income tax on it. Of course, this is all in theory because truly wealthy individuals don't pay income tax.
