If we can all just stop riding Obama's dilzack for a second and HELP ME OUT WITH SOMETHING

Hey, any and all LiveJournal pals --

Once again, I’ll be in Seattle for the Experience Music Project’s Annual Pop Conference this April. So first of all, if you live in the area, let’s get together and get tore up!

Second, whether or not you live in Settle, I’m requesting your assistance in helping me find some sources for my presentation to the Pop Conference. This year, my paper will be on the role of women in black metal, and I’d like to interview as many people as possible. Here’s what I’m specifically looking for:

1. WOMEN. Sorry, fellas, take it outside.

2. WHO ARE IN THE BLACK METAL SCENE. They could be fans, musicians, girlfriends, publicists, label people or anyone who’s both female and involved in black metal. Note that I’m also specifically looking at the black metal scene; women who are into death metal, grindcore, metalcore, screamo, power metal, thrash, or whatever else need not apply unless they’re also into black metal.

If you are someone who fits that description, or if you know someone who fits that description, please leave me a message here, or e-mail me at leonard dot pierce at gmail dot com. I’m looking to do some interviews (over phone or email) and possibly get a photograph or two.

The usual caveats: there is no pay, but your name will be mentioned in the presentation. This is totally legit — it may be a lot to do with sex, but it’s not porn. It’ll be presented at a conference in front of hundreds of music writers, academics, journalists and musicians. I’d like to do the majority of the interviews by the end of March 2009.

Thanks so much for any and all help you can provide.
