It never ends

Right-wing blowhard disputes that black man being beaten to death by club-wielding mob constitutes "lynching" for completely sophistic reasons. Blowhard is called out for his idiocy by various other sources. Blowhard responds by:

1. Reiterating his stance that it wasn't a lynching because

1(a). A lynching is mob violence, and though there were a lot of people there, only three of them actually beat the guy to death, and three people isn't a mob.

1(b). A lynching cannot be a lawful act, and a court ruled that the sheriff, deputy and policeman who committed the murder "'acted under color of law.' Which means they had legal authority."*

2. Moving on to the claim that Barack Obama and Shirley Sherrod are the modern-day version of the southern racists who committed the non-lynching.

3. Concludes by comparing himself to Atticus Finch.

I've said it before, and I'm wearily certain I'll say it again: the right-wing conservative wing of the Republican Party keeps railing against their characterization by liberals as racist. And then they go around saying shit like this, every single day. It's really not hard: if you don't want people to think you are racist, stop saying racist things.

*: In fact, it does not mean that at all.
